The Lion's Den Book and Gift Store

Welcome to the Lion’s Den! We feature a unique selection of gifts and books intended to nurture and develop faith and enhance daily life.  You will find seasonal items, candles, literature, books on prayer and religious history, sacred music, icons, jewelry, and more.  Browse through our shelves for inspirational items, whether you’re looking for a special card for any occasion, or a great gift for a baby shower or birthday.

A church bookstore became a reality for St. Mark’s when an anonymous donor funded the transformation of a large storage area into a retail establishment and in September 2006, The Lion’s Den was born.

In addition to hosting numerous special events coinciding with the church calendar, the store has had a number of book/author events including a presentation of the The St. John’s Bible, the first hand-written and hand-illuminated bible since the Middle Ages.  Visiting us in the spring of 2008 was Joan ChittisterOrder of Saint Benedict, one of the most celebrated spiritual writers of our time speaking about her most current book, On the Gift of Years: Growing Older Gracefully.  Watch for upcoming programs.

Stop by our Wednesday Morning Coffee House (9-1pm) where good conversation is always brewing.  Treats and gourmet coffees will delight as you catch up with friends or pore over a new release.

The Lion’s Den serves as a spiritual outreach from St. Mark’s to the larger community, providing resources to individuals and worshiping communities in Fairfield County.  Staffed by volunteers, the store is open 6 days a week (9-1 Saturday - Thursday) with extended holiday hours.  Please see the Store Information page for directions.

We look forward to seeing you in the shop.
